Recall - Wheel Lug Nuts Loose
TWO-PIECE LUG NUT REPLACEMENT
AFFECTED VEHICLES:
1997-1998 EXPEDITION/NAVIGATOR AND F-150/250
SERVICE PROCEDURE
The following service procedure must be performed on all four (4) wheels.
1.
Remove center caps from wheels.
2.
Loosen lug nuts on all four (4) wheels.
3.
Raise vehicle on hoist.
4.
Remove all lug nuts.
5.
Remove tire and wheel assemblies.
6.
With wire brush, clean back of wheel (brake rotor/drum mating surface) of any foreign material.
7.
Inspect all wheel stud holes for damage (cracked or distorted).If cracked or distorted (if a penny can fit through the stud hole), the wheel must be
replaced.
8.
Inspect all studs. Replace if damaged.
