Shift Lever and Boot

REMOVAL

1. Slide the two guide pieces off the cardan joint.

2. Slide the shift lever boot and shift lever boot retainer as an assembly off past the top of the shift lever.

3. Invert the shift lever boot and shift lever boot retainer and remove the snap ring.

NOTE:  A cross-shaft passes through the cardan joint and is pressed into the shift lever. Do not disassemble these components.

INSTALLATION

1. Insert the shift lever boot in its upright position in the cover of shift lever.
