If the clearance between either fuel line and the dash panel is less than 10 mm, adjust (bend) the front retaining bracket forward using the same 3/8
inch extension turned around so the opposite end can be positioned on the lower corner of the front bracket. See Figure 5. Push forward with the
extension to bend the bracket to gain adequate clearance. Be sure to bend the retaining bracket only and not the fuel lines themselves.
After bending the bracket, repeat Step 5 to make sure there is 10 mm (3/8 inch) clearance between the fuel lines and the dash panel.

Only on 4WD models equipped with a manual shift transfer case, inspect the fuel line assembly in the area near the transfer case shift linkage for
signs of contact. If equipped, remove and discard the heat insulation sheath to inspect the lines. See Figure 6.

If evidence of damage or contact between the fuel lines and the shift linkage is found, the fuel line assembly must be replaced. Go to the
appropriate replacement procedure in this Attachment III.

If no evidence of damage or contact is found, go to the next step.
