Connect the two (2) rear fuel line connectors and install the safety clips.
7.
Inspect the newly installed fuel line assembly to make sure all clearances meet specifications (10 mm).
NOTE:
If you are unable to obtain the 10 mm clearance, contact the Recall Hotline at 1-800-325-5621.
8.
Lower the vehicle on the hoist.
9.
Connect the two (2) fuel line spring lock couplers to the fuel supply manifold and install the safety clips.
10.
Install the battery ground cable and remove the memory saver. Turn the air suspension switch on, if equipped.
11.
Turn the ignition key on to pressurize the fuel system and inspect for leaks.
Removal - 4X4 Models
1.
Install a memory saver, then disconnect the battery ground cable.
WARNING
FUEL IN THE FUEL SYSTEM REMAINS UNDER HIGH PRESSURE EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING. BEFORE
REPAIRING OR DISCONNECTING ANY OF THE FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS, THE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE
RELIEVED TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL SPRAYING OF FUEL CAUSING PERSONAL INJURY OR A FIRE HAZARD.
WARNING
ADEQUATE VENTILATION IS REQUIRED WHEN WORKING IN A CONFINED AREA WITH FUEL AND FUEL RELATED
COMPONENTS.

DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY
FUEL-RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE VAPORS ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY IGNITE. FAILURE TO
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
WARNING
THIS PROCEDURE INVOLVES FUEL HANDLING. BE PREPARED FOR FUEL SPILLAGE AT ALL TIMES AND ALWAYS
OBSERVE FUEL HANDLING PROCEDURES. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL
INJURY.

Relieve the fuel system pressure as follows:

Remove the fuel supply manifold Schrader valve cap and attach an EFI/CFI fuel pressure gauge.

Slowly open the manual valve on the fuel pressure gauge to relieve the fuel system pressure.

Remove the EFI/CFI fuel pressure gauge and replace the Schrader valve cap.
3.
Remove the safety clips then disconnect the two (2) fuel line spring lock couplers from the fuel supply manifold.
4.
Turn the air suspension switch off, if equipped, then raise and support the vehicle on a hoist.
5.
Remove the transfer case skid plate, if equipped.
6.
Remove the safety clips, then disconnect the two (2) rear fuel line connectors.
7.
Remove the rear fuel line bracket retaining nuts from the outside of the frame rail.
8.
Disconnect the left catalyst monitor sensor from the vehicle harness at the rear transmission-mounted fuel line bracket to provide clearance for fuel
line replacement.
9.
Remove the front driveshaft shield, then remove the front driveshaft (automatic transmission only).
10.
Disconnect the transmission shift cable, then remove the shift cable bracket (automatic transmission only).
11.
If equipped with a manual shift transfer case, unbolt the transfer case shift lever, then unbolt the transfer case shift bracket from the transmission
and position it out of the way.
