7. Remove the (A) Highlift Transmission Jack with the (B) E40D Transmission Jack Adapter from the (C) transmission.
8. Reinstall the transmission fluid pan-to-case retaining bolts removed to install the jack adapter.
9. Install the driveshaft.
(1) Position the driveshaft.
(2) Install the four bolts.
NOTE: To maintain initial driveshaft balance, align the marks on the driveshaft yoke and axle flange so they may be installed in their original
positions.
10. Lower the vehicle.
NOTE: If equipped with air suspension, reactivate the system by turning on the air suspension switch.
11. Check fluid level, fill with Motorcraft MERCON or MERCON V Automatic Transmission Fluid or equivalent meeting FORD specification.
12. Check for proper operation.
