Throttle Body: Service and Repair
6-300 & V8-302 Engines
1.
Disconnect throttle position sensor and air bypass valve electrical connectors.
2.
Remove throttle body attaching bolts, the separate throttle body from upper intake manifold.
3.
Remove and discard gasket between throttle body and intake manifold.
4.
Reverse procedure to install. On 6-300, torque throttle body attaching bolts to 14 top 20 ft. lbs. On V8-302, torque throttle body attaching bolts to
12 - 15 ft. lbs. on 1985 models, or 12 - 18 ft. lbs. on 1986 - 87 models.
