F 250 4WD Pickup V8-5.4L SOHC VIN L (1999)
Install the differential pinion shaft.

Align the hole in the differential pinion shaft with the case lock bolt hole.

Install a new wheel stud.
5. Install the brake discs.
6. Install the differential housing cover and fill the rear axle housing with 3.0 liters (6.5 pints) or to the bottom of the filler hole of Motorcraft
Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant F1TZ-19580-B or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSL-M2C192-A.
7. WARNING: Always remove any corrosion, dirt or foreign material on the mounting surfaces of the wheel or the surface of the wheel
hub or brake disc that contacts the wheel. Installing wheels without proper metal-to-metal contact at the wheel mounting surfaces can
cause the lug nut to loosen and the wheel to come off while the vehicle is in motion, causing loss of control.
Clean the wheel hub and mounting surfaces.
8. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
With Drum Brakes
Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the differential housing cover. Drain the lubricant.
4. Remove the rear brake drums.
5. Remove the differential pinion shaft.

Remove the differential pinion shaft lock bolt.

Remove the differential pinion shaft.
6. CAUTION: Do not damage the rubber 0-rings in the U-washer grooves.
Remove the U-washers.

Push the axle shafts inboard.

Remove the U-washers.
