Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. If removing right exhaust manifold, remove transmission fill tube bracket bolts and rotate transmission fill tube and bracket aside.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove bolts retaining turbocharger exhaust inlet pipe to exhaust manifold.
5. Remove exhaust manifold bolts and exhaust manifold.
6. Clean exhaust manifold mating surface and inspect for warpage.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten exhaust manifold bolts to 45 ft. lbs. and turbocharger exhaust inlet pipe bolts to 36 ft. lbs.
