Removal and Installation
1. Remove the hub lock.

Remove the retainer ring.

CAUTION: To prevent damaging the hub lock, do not use tools other than hands or "grip" gloves to remove the hub lock.
Pull outward and remove the hub lock.
2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Clean the O-ring seal contact area as necessary to provide a good O-ring seal. Install a new hub lock O-ring seal kit. Apply a coat of Ford High
Temperature 4X4 Front Axle and Wheel Bearing Grease E8TZ-19590-A meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C198 to the O-ring seal and
contact area.

Push the hub lock in firmly by hand to seat the O-ring seal completely.

Be sure the retainer ring is completely expanded into the wheel hub groove.
