Disassembly and Assembly
NOTE: A heater mat can be removed from a foam pad and a new heater mat installed on that same foam pad. However, if the foam pad is pitted or torn
after heater mat removal, install a new foam pad.
1. Remove the seat backrest. For additional information, refer to Seat Backrest - Front, Bucket Seat See: Removal and Replacement/Front Seats/Seat

2. Release the backrest trim cover lower J-clip.
3. NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn
from the seat backrest foam.
Release the hook-and-loop strips and invert the backrest trim cover to the first row of hog rings.
4. Remove the first row of hog rings.
5. Release the hook-and-loop strips and invert the backrest trim cover to the second row of hog rings.
6. Remove the second row of hog rings.
7. Remove the backrest trim cover.
8. Remove the backrest foam pad from the backrest frame.
9. Remove the anti-squeak bag from the backrest frame.
10. Remove the 2 recliner-to-backrest frame bolts and recliner.

To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
11. If equipped, release the 4 clips from the backrest frame and remove the manual lumbar assembly.
12. If equipped, remove the backrest heater mat from the backrest foam pad.
13. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
