35. NOTICE: Use a lifting crane and load leveler rated at a minimum of 907 kg (2,000 lb) or damage to the vehicle may occur.
NOTE: It will be necessary to position the exhaust downpipe aside to get the lift that is required to remove the oil pan.
Position the heavy duty lifting crane with a commercially available load leveler and attach the chains to the front of the engine.
36. NOTICE: Make sure the exhaust downpipe is loose during the raising of the engine or damage to the vehicle may occur.
NOTE: The engine will need kept level in order to remove the oil pan.
Raise the lifting crane as needed to get the required lift to remove the oil pan.
37. Support the engine with jackstands or other suitable support devices.
38. Remove the remaining oil pan bolts and position the oil pan to access the oil pick up tube bolts.
39. Remove the bolts for the oil pick up tube and place the tube in the oil pan. Remove the oil pan.

Remove and discard the oil pick up tube O-ring seal.
40. Remove and discard the press-in-place gasket.
Installation
All vehicles
1. Install a new press-in-place gasket for the oil pan.
2. NOTE: Install a new O-ring seal on the oil pick up tube and place the tube in the oil pan.
Position the oil pan and install the pickup tube.

Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
3. Install the oil pan and the 22 bolts.
1. Install the 5 longer oil pan bolts.
2. Install the remaining oil pan bolts.
^
Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
