Removal
All vehicles
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect the rear driveshaft from the transmission and position it aside.
Vehicles with four wheel drive (4WD)
3. Remove the transfer case.
4. Using the special tools, remove and discard the output oil seal.
Vehicles with rear wheel drive (RWD)
5. Using the special tools, remove the transmission flange.
6. Remove and discard the output oil seal.
Installation
Vehicles with four wheel drive (4WD)
1. Using the special tool, install a new output oil seal.

Coat the outer diameter of the new seal with Trim and Weatherstrip Adhesive.
