MOMENTARY RETURN TO IDLE DURING
AGGRESSIVE ACCELERATION - DIAGNOSTIC
TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0123 - 7.3L ENGINE

FORD:
2001-2003 Excursion, F-Super Duty

ISSUE
Some 2001-2003 F-Series Super Duty and Excursion vehicles equipped with the 7.3L engine and a non-adjustable (fixed) accelerator pedal, may exhibit
the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated intermiffently, and a momentary return to idle during aggressive acceleration. Diagnostic trouble code
(DTC) P0123 will be stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) when the condition occurs, but may be cleared after forty (40) vehicle warm up
cycles if no repeat conditions occur.

ACTION
If normal PC/ED Manual diagnostics do not identify a root cause, install a revised fixed accelerator pedal. Refer to Workshop Manual Section 310-02.
