Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
NOTE: A Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is only used on 49-state models.
1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
2. Disconnect vacuum source from manifold absolute pressure sensor.
3. Remove fasteners attaching manifold absolute pressure sensor and bracket assembly below cowl drip rail.
4. Remove MAP sensor fasteners on the air conditioning evaporator case.
5. To install, follow removal procedure in reverse order.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control
module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
