Normal Operation
The running board lamps are illuminated any time the courtesy lights are illuminated. The Smart Junction Box (SJB) supplies voltage to the running
board lamps through circuit CLN25 (VT). The running board lamps are grounded through circuit GD176 (BK/WH).

DTC B2A37 (Floor Lamp Output Circuit Open) - an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB detects an open from the running board lamp output
circuit.

DTC B2A38 (Floor Lamp Output Circuit Short To Ground) - a continuous and on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB detects a short to ground
from the running board lamp circuit.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

Wiring, terminals or connectors
-
Running board lamp
PINPOINT TEST H: THE RUNNING BOARD LAMP(S) ARE INOPERATIVE
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the
connector.
NOTE: Failure to disconnect the battery when instructed will result in false resistance readings.

H1 DETERMINE IF ALL THE RUNNING BOARD LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE

Ignition OFF.
-
Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the DOME LAMP position and observe the running board lamps.
-
Are all the running board lamps inoperative?
Yes
GO to H2.
No
GO to H4.

H2 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE LH FRONT RUNNING BOARD LAMP

Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch out of the DOME LAMP position.

Disconnect: LH Front Running Board Lamp C3084.

Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the DOME LAMP position.
-
Measure the voltage between the LH front running board lamp C3084-1, circuit CLN25 (VT), harness side and ground.

Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
REPAIR circuit GD176 (BK/WH) for an open. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No
