Air Bag Deactivation Switch: Service and Repair
Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Switch
NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
1. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result
in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.
Turn the ignition off and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply.
2. Remove the upper instrument panel center finish screw cover.
3. Through the instrument panel finish panel lower right bezel opening, release the 2 lower locking tabs on the instrument panel control opening
bezel and detach it from the instrument panel finish panel.
4. Disconnect the power point electrical connector.
