Steering Damper: Service and Repair
Steering Linkage Damper - F-250 and F-350 Rear Wheel Drive (RWD)
Removal and Installation
1. Place the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.
2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
3. NOTE: The alignment of the steering linkage damper bracket is critical to avoid interference, binding or overextension of the damper. Do not
loosen or remove the steering linkage damper bracket U-bolt nuts.
Remove the steering linkage damper-to-frame bracket bolt and nut.

To install, tighten the nut to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
4. Remove the steering linkage damper-to-drag link bracket bolt and nut and remove the steering linkage damper.

To install, tighten the nut to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
