Removal and Installation
NOTICE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result
in major service expense. They must be replaced with the same part number or an equivalent part if replacement is necessary. Do not use a
replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct
retention of these parts.
1. NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the brake disc and wheel hub assembly when removing the wheel spindle to service the ball joints.
If installing a new wheel spindle, remove the brake disc and wheel hub assembly. For additional information, refer to Wheel Bearing and Wheel
Hub - F-250, F-350 See: Wheel Bearing/Service and Repair/Front Suspension. If the wheel spindle is being removed to service the ball joints,
remove the brake pads.
2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and detach the sensor harness from the brake hose.
3. Remove the cotter pin, nut retainer and the tie-rod end nut.

Discard the cotter pin.
