Pilot Bearing: Removal and Replacement

Removal
1. Remove the clutch disc and pressure plate. For additional information, refer to Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate See: Clutch Disc/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement.
2. Using the Pilot Bearing Remover with the Impact Slide Hammer, remove and discard the transmission input shaft pilot bearing.
Installation
Gasoline engines
1. NOTE: The new transmission input shaft pilot bearing is pregreased and does not require additional lubrication.
Using a soft-face hammer and the Pilot Bearing Replacer, install the new input shaft pilot bearing.
Diesel engines
2. NOTE: The new transmission input shaft pilot bearing is pregreased and does not require additional lubrication.
Using a soft-face hammer and a suitable driver, install the new input shaft pilot bearing.
