Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. The Evaporative Emission Control Canister must be removed from the vehicle first.
NOTE

Inspect and replace the O-ring as necessary.

A twisting and pulling motion is required to remove the canister vent solenoid.
INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate all O-rings with surfactant MerPol meeting Ford specification ESE-M99B 144-B.
2. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
3. Leak test. See: Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Evaporative Emission Canister Assembly Leak Test
4. Perform the Evaporative Emission Running Loss Monitor Repair Verification Drive Cycle.
