2005-2007 F-Super Duty
ISSUE
Some 2005-2007 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with 5.4L engines may exhibit diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175 with or
without drivability concerns being evident. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may also be illuminated. Some vehicles may also experience a cyclic
surge in cruise control mode while operating on a smooth level road.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Check for any vacuum leaks, disconnected vacuum hoses, inspect the intake manifold assembly and the mass air flow sensor (MAF) before
reprogramming the powertrain control module (PCM).
Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 51.5 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2007.9 DVD.
