WARNING: When handling fuel, always observe fuel handling precautions and be prepared in the event of fuel spillage. Spilled fuel may be
ignited by hot vehicle components or other ignition sources. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
1. Bleed the low-pressure fuel system. For additional information, refer to Fuel System Bleeding - Low Pressure, Diesel Engine.
2. Remove the rear banjo bolt on the fuel cooler.
3. NOTE: Use the old banjo bolt sealing washers when installing the Air Purge Adapter.
NOTE: The Air Purge Adapter will drain fuel out of the fuel system. Install the open end of the Air Purge Adapter into a suitable fuel container.
Install the Air Purge Adapter in place of the rear banjo bolt.
4. Cycle the ignition key ON for 30 seconds without starting the engine, then cycle the key OFF for 5 seconds. Repeat this cycle 3 times or until fuel
starts to flow from the Air Purge Adapter hose.
5. Start the engine and let it idle until a steady stream of fuel (free of air bubbles) is coming out of the Air Purge Adapter hose. If the engine does not
start, repeat Step 4.
