Removal

NOTICE: Position a suitable protective material in front of the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) or damage to the CAC may occur.

NOTE: It is recommended that this component be serviced with the vehicle body partially lifted. If the vehicle body cannot be partially lifted, refer to 
Oil Pan - Lower, Body On  See: Oil Pan - Lower, Body On.

All vehicles

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position the vehicle on a hoist.

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

3. Disconnect the windshield washer hose.

4. Disconnect the underhood light electrical connector and pin-type retainers. Position the wiring aside.

5. NOTE: Mark the location of the hinges prior to removing the hood.

With the help of an assistant, disconnect the hood lift rods. Remove the 4 bolts and the hood.

6. Disconnect the parking brake cable at the cable-to-cable union.

7. Remove the parking brake cable from the frame bracket.
