9. NOTE: The EGR Valve Puller has a LH thread.
Install the EGR Valve Puller top plate and run the top plate down until it sits on the support rod nuts.

It may be necessary to adjust the support rods so that the plate sits squarely on top of the nuts.
10. NOTE: The EGR Valve Puller has a LH thread.
Using the EGR Valve Puller, remove the EGR valve.

Discard the O-ring seal.
11. Using the EGR Valve Cleaning Brush and a shop vacuum, clean the EGR valve bore in the intake throttle adapter.

Inspect the intake throttle adapter bore for scoring. If the bore is scored, install a new intake throttle adapter.
Installation
All vehicles
1. Using a new O-ring seal, install the EGR valve and the 3 bolts.

Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Early build vehicles
2. Connect the coolant inlet and outlet hoses.
All vehicles
3. Connect the EGRT sensor outlet and the EGR valve electrical connectors.
4. NOTE: Clearing the DTCs or Keep Alive Memory (KAM) does not reset the adaptive values in the PCM.
