Exhaust Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
Exhaust Pressure (EP) Sensor
Removal
1. NOTICE: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls or the vehicle may be
damaged.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the Exhaust Pressure (EP) sensor electrical connector and detach the wiring harness C-clip.
3. Remove the EP sensor and tube assembly nut.
4. NOTE: Use a backup wrench on the Oxidation Catalytic Converter (OC)-EGR fitting when loosening the EP sensor and tube assembly fitting.
Loosen the fitting at the OC-EGR and remove the EP sensor and tube assembly.
Installation
1. Position the EP sensor and tube assembly and finger-tighten the fitting to the OC-EGR.
2. Install the EP sensor and tube assembly nut.

Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
3. NOTE: Use a backup wrench on the OC-EGR fitting when tightening the EP sensor and tube assembly fitting.
Tighten the EP sensor and tube assembly fitting at the OC-EGR.

Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
4. Connect the EP sensor electrical connector and attach the wiring harness C-clip to the sensor body, above the hex.
