F 350 2WD Super Duty V8-6.4L DSL Turbo (2009)

To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
8. Disconnect the return hose-to-steering gear fitting.

Discard the O-ring seal.

To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
9. Remove the cotter pin, retainer cap and the inner drag link-to-sector shaft nut.
1. Remove and discard the cotter pin.
2. Remove the sector shaft retainer cap and nut.

To install, tighten to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft).
10. Using the Steering Arm Remover, disconnect the inner drag link from the sector shaft arm.
F-250/350 vehicles
11. Remove the 3 bolts and the steering gear.
-
Discard the bolts.
-
To install, tighten the new bolts to 165 Nm (122 lb-ft).
F-450/550 vehicles
12. Remove the 3 bolts and the steering gear.

Discard the bolts.
-
To install, tighten the new bolts to 300 Nm (221 lb-ft).
All vehicles
13. NOTICE: The sector shaft arm-to-sector shaft nut must not be reused. The threads of the nut are coated with a dry adhesive. When the
nut is removed, the dry adhesive is degraded. If the nut is reused, failure of the nut and/or sector shaft arm and shaft may occur.
Remove the sector shaft arm-to-sector shaft nut.

Discard the nut.

To install, tighten the new nut to 475 Nm (350 lb-ft).
F-250/350 vehicles
14. Using the Steering Arm Remover, remove the sector shaft arm.
F-450/550 vehicles
15. Using the Differential Bearing Remover and 2 Grade 8 bolts, 90 mm (3.54 in), separate the sector shaft arm from the steering gear.
