Recall 99V093000: Fuel Tank Retaining Brackets
Vehicle Description:
Super duty pickup trucks. These trucks may not fully satisfy the post crash test static rollover requirements of FMVSS No. 301, "Fuel System Integrity."
Fuel may leak at a higher rate than allowed by regulation. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire. Dealers will install
retaining cables to the pickup box, and replace the fuel tank locator bracket on the 6' pickup bed vehicles built from January 5, 1998 through March 21,
1998. Vehicles built from March 22, 1999 through June 4, 1999, will only have the fuel tank locator bracket replaced. Owner notification began August
30, 1999. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable
