Visually inspect upper/rear flex joint rivets. A correctly staked rivet should be silver in color and approximately 11-12 mm in diameter. If rivet
was not staked, it will be yellow in color and approximately 9 mm in diameter. See Figure 1.

Using a flat-bladed screwdriver and light pressure, try to pry apart the upper/rear portion of the flex joint from the rubber isolator. Place
screwdriver as close to the rivets as possible. Refer to Figure 2.

If there is any movement between the rivet and the flange, the rivet was not staked.

Raise and support vehicle.

Visually inspect lower/forward flex joint rivets. A correctly staked rivet should be silver in color and approximately 11-12 mm in diameter. If rivet
was not staked, it will be yellow in color and approximately 9 mm in diameter. Refer to Figure 1.
