Backing Plate: Service and Repair
Cleaning
Clean the ledge pads on the brake backing plate. Sand lightly to bare metal.
Apply Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A (Motorcraft WA-10) or equivalent meeting Ford Specification
ESE-M1C171-A at the points where the rear brake shoe and lining touches the brake backing plate.
