Oil Pressure Regulator Valve: Testing and Inspection
Inspection
PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE PLUNGER AND SPRING INSPECTION
1. Inspect valve plunger for scoring and free operation.
Light scratches may be removed with a crocus cloth.
2. Inspect spring for breaks, cracks, tilting, and collapsed coils.
3. Using Valve/Clutch Spring Tester TOOL-6513-DD or equivalent, check valve spring tension. Check against specifications. A weak spring must be
replaced.
