Accelerator Pedal: Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION
Verify the customer's concern by inspecting the condition. Check for any resistance in accelerator pedal action. Inspect the accelerator pedal if a high
engine idle speed condition exists. After inspection and verification, refer to the symptom chart for the condition, and perform the appropriate action to
correct the condition.
SYMPTOM CHART
Based on the condition, these steps are to be used for diagnosis following disconnection of the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever. (If vehicle
is equipped with speed control, also disconnect the speed control actuator cable from the throttle body lever.
