Parking Pawl: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove the extension housing gasket.
2. Remove two bolts using a 13 mm socket and remove parking rod guide plate.
3. Remove parking pawl return spring, parking pawl and parking pawl shaft from case.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Make sure spring end rests on inside surface of case.
3. Also make sure dimple on parking rod guide plate faces inward when installed.
4. Tighten parking rod guide plate bolts to 22-27 Nm (16-20 Ft lbs.).
