Some 1983-84 F250/350 4x4 vehicles equipped with the 6.9L diesel engine may exhibit a low front end appearance or a spring strike-thru condition
during vehicle operation. If this condition is present, check the dimension between the outboard lower edge of the metal jounce bumper and upper spring
plate, dimension "A" in Figure 33.
If dimension "A" is 2.1 inches or less, the front springs should be replaced with the next higher rate spring E3TZ-5310-R. If dimension "A" is greater
than 2.1 inches, the front end appearance is normal and the springs should not be replaced.
