Install the spring lower seat aud spring insulator on the radius arm so that the hole in the seat goes over the arm-to-axle bolt.
SWAP (EXCHANGE) CASTER SLUGS (Ref. 1988 Truck Shop Manual, Volume "A", Pg. 14-21-9):

Remove the upper ball joint camber adjuster clamp bolt nut and remove the clamp bolt from the axle.
15.
Remove the camber adjuster from the axle using Tool D81T-3010-B to wedge the adjuster out of the axle.
Installation
16.
Install the RH side camber adjuster (E7TA-3B404-GA) into the LH axle aligning the slot in the adjuster correctly.
17.
Install the adjuster on the upper ball joint stud and tap the adjuster into the axle.
18.
Install the clamp bolt and nut in the axle. Tighten the nut to 65-88 N-m (48-65 ft.lb).
19.
Repeat steps 17 and 18 on RH axle to install the LH side camber adjuster (E7TA-3B404-FA) into the RH axle aligning the slot in the
adjuster correctly.
INSTALL FRONT SPRING (Ref: 1988 Truck Shop Manual, Volume "A", Pg. 14-21-3):

Place the spring in position and slowly raise the front axle.
21.
Position the spring lower retainer over the stud, lower rubber insulator, and lower seat, and install the attaching nut.
22.
Position the upper retainer over the spring coil and against the spring upper seat, and install the attaching screw.
23.
Tighten the upper retainer attaching bolt and lower retainer attaching nut to specifications which follow:

Upper Retainer, 18-24 N-m (13-18 ft.lb.)
^
Lower Retainer, 95-135 N-m (70-110 ft.lb.)

Connect the shock absorber to the lower bracket. Install the lower bolt with head towards the tire and tighten nut to 55-81 N-m (40
ft.lb.).

Replace or Service Tires (See Tire Part Ordering Information)
1.
If vehicle is equipped with 7:50 or 7:50R tires, replace all six tires and spare (if equipped) with LT215/8516D tires. Procure tires from a local
tire store. Firestone or Michelin tires are preferred. If truck has mud and snow tires on the rear, replace with like type LT215/85R16D radial
all terrain (A/T) tires. Balance all tires and set the tire pressures to:

Front - 58 psi

Rear - 65 psi
NOTE:
If tires are replaced, obtain an authorized modifications label number FPS8262 and fill out as shown below including the date of
repair.
This truck is equipped with LT215/85R16 tires.
Tire Pressures Cold
Front - 58 psi Rear - 65 psi
Attach completed label to door opening "B" pillar area next to the vehicle certification label. Do not cover any existing labels.

If vehicle is already equipped with LT215/85R16D tires, balance the front tires.
3.
If the original LT215/85R16D tires are too worn or damaged, replace the front tires and balance.
NOTE:
if tires cannot be located, contact your supervising Ford office.
7.
Check and Reset Toe-in as described in 1988 Light Truck Shop Manual, Volume "A", Page 14-01-9.
