Vacuum Pump: Description and Operation
Vacuum Hose Routing
On diesel engine vehicles, vacuum is supplied from a vacuum pump located on the top left side of the engine. The vacuum pump is driven by a drive belt
which drives all accessories.
Low Vacuum Switch
Diesel-engine equipped vehicles employ the use of a distributor modulator valve switch or low vacuum indicator switch.
The distributor modulator valve switch is located on the right side of the engine compartment adjacent to the vacuum pump.
