Fuel Tank Switching Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect both battery ground cables.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control
Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Remove selector valve electrical connector.
3. Remove fuel lines from the selector valve.
4. Remove the two bolts mounting the selector valve, then remove the valve from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the selector valve on the vehicle.
2. Install the mounting bolts and tighten to 12-16 Nm (9-12 ft lb).
3. Install the fuel lines to the selector valve.
4. Install the electrical connector to the selector valve.
5. Connect both battery ground cables.
6. Start the vehicle and check for leaks.
7. Verify proper operation of the switching valve.
