Driver's Side Air Bags
AFFECTED VEHICLES
Certain 1994 Model Year F-Series trucks under 8,500 lbs. GVWR, built before 9/17/93 at Ontario Truck Plant and equipped with driver's side air bags.
REASONS FOR RECALL
Approximately ten of the affected vehicles may have been built with non-functional air bag diagnostic monitors intended for certain vehicles over 8,500
lbs. GVWR that are not equipped with driver-side air bag supplemental restraint systems. If so equipped, the air bag supplemental restraint system and
the air bag warning light would not function. This could result in reduced occupant protection in the event of a collision of the type in which the air bag
supplemental restraint system is intended to be activated.
To correct this condition, the affected vehicles will be inspected and, if necessary, the diagnostic monitor will be replaced.
