Using a small screwdriver, press on the check ball and make sure it moves freely inside the check valve. Refer to Figure 2.

Replace the converter drainback check valve if the ball does not move freely.

All internal transmission components and the torque converter must be checked for damage. Follow the Disassembly, Subassembly,
Cleaning/inspection, and Reassembly procedures as outlined in the Service Manual, Section 07-01A, and service as required.
