Circuit Breaker: Testing and Inspection
NOTE: The circuit breaker is rated at 8.25 amps and is located in the fuse junction panel. Two separate tests are necessary to check for correct circuit
breaker operation. Remove the circuit breaker from the fuse junction panel.
Test 1
1. Before connecting circuit breaker to suitable volt-ohmmeter, short tester leads together and adjust current draw until it equals circuit breaker
rating.
2. Connect circuit breaker to tester for 10 minutes. Hold current reading on ammeter at rated current. If circuit breaker opens during 10 minutes,
replace it.
Test 2
1. Short tester leads together and adjust current draw until it is twice rated current.
2. Connect circuit breaker. Hold current reading on ammeter at twice rated current. Current reading on ammeter should drop to zero within 20
seconds. If it takes longer than 20 seconds for circuit breaker to open (current reading drops to zero), replace it.
