Attachment III - Technical Information

OVERVIEW

This program involves installing a retainer clip at the fuel line connection located between the fuel filter outlet tube and the engine supply tube. This
Connection can be found in the area between the left side frame rail and the rear of the transmission.

This new retainer clip is designed as two (2) opposing shells one having a semi-circular tang that fits inside the quick connect coupling and holds the fuel
line in place. Each shell has two (2) locking fangs that engage into slots on the opposite shell which secures the clip to the coupling, locking the two (2)
fuel lines together. Be sure to properly align the fangs and slots when assembling the clip over the quick connect coupling.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

NOTE:

This procedure does not require the vehicle to be one hoist.

1.

From below the vehicle, locate the fuel line connection at the fuel filter outlet tube end the engine supply tube, then pull back the heat shield to
fully expose the quick connect coupling.

2.

WARNING: THE FUEL SYSTEM IS UNDER PRESSURE. DO NOT PRESS THE BLUE RELEASE BUTTON. THE FUEL LINES MAY
SEPARATE AND CAUSE FUEL TO SPRAY.

Install the retainer clip Onto the quick connect coupling as follows:

See Figures 1 and 2.

a)

Push together the fuel lines to wake sure they are fully engaged.

b)

Position the rear shell with BLUE mark over the blue release button and with the semi-circular tang inserted into the coupling. See Figure 1.

CAUTION:

Do not allow the locking tangs to get caught and bend between the two (2) shells.
