F 350 4WD Super Duty V10-6.8L VIN Y (2006)
During the demand lighting function, the instrument cluster provides a ground for the battery saver relay whenever the instrument cluster is awake.
The battery saver relay provides power to circuit 54 (LG/YE). Circuit 54 (LG/YE) provides power to each demand lamp switch and when activated
provides power to the selected demand lamp. The demand lamps are grounded through circuit 57 (BK).
Possible Causes
-
Circuit 54 (LG/YE) open
-
Circuit 57 (BK) open
-
Lamp assembly

Normal Operation
During the battery saver function, the instrument cluster provides a ground circuit for the battery saver relay when the ignition switch is in the OFF
position. The battery saver relay provides voltage to circuit 54 (LG/YE) for a predetermined time after the ignition switch has been cycled from the
ON position to the OFF position. Once the predetermined time-out has elapsed, the instrument cluster deactivates the battery saver relay and removes
power from circuit 54 (LG/YE).
Possible Causes
-
Circuit 54 (LG/YE) short to voltage
-
Instrument cluster
