Removal and Installation
CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power
steering components can result.
NOTE: New Teflon(R) 0-ring seals must be installed any time the power steering line fittings are disconnected.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Using a suitable suction device, remove the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
3. NOTE: Thoroughly clean all foreign material from the threads.
NOTE: The jumper line between to the Hydro-Booster and the pressure line can be serviced separately. Not necessary to remove it from the
Hydro-Booster when servicing the pressure line.
Disconnect the pressure line-to-jumper line fitting.

Discard the Teflon(R) seal.

To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
4. Disconnect the pressure line from the pressure line bracket at the Hydro-booster.

To install, clip back into bracket.
5. Remove the lower power steering pump bracket bolt.

To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. NOTE: Thoroughly clean all foreign material from the threads.
Disconnect the pressure line-to-pump fitting and remove the pressure line.
Discard the Teflon(R) seal.

To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).
