ISSUE
Some 2010 F-150 Raptor and 2011 F-Super Duty 250/350 vehicles equipped with a 6.2L engine and built 1/18/2010 through 9/7/2010 may exhibit an
engine tick noise accompanied with engine misfire codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307, P0308 and/or P0316.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Inspect the coil-on-plugs and/or ignition wires. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-07A.
a. If any coil-on-plugs wires and/or ignition wires were disconnected, reinstall and confirm noise is resolved.
b. If coil-on-plugs and/or ignition wires are not source of noise, proceed to Step 2.
2. Remove RH/LH valve covers. Refer to WSM, Section 303-10A.3.
3. Inspect RH/LH rocker shaft rollers for signs of surface deformation or fatigue. (Figure 1)
a. If damage is found, replace RH and/or LH rocker shaft. Refer to WSM, Section 303-01A4.
4. Inspect RH/LH camshaft lobes for damage.
a. If damage is found, replace RH and/or LH camshaft. Refer to WSM, Section 303-01A.
