F 350 4WD Super Duty V8-6.4L DSL Turbo (2008)
CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
CAUTION: When replacing either the hydraulic control unit (HCU) or the ABS module individually, make sure that the number of coils
(metal cans) in the ABS module equals the number of valves in the HCU. This is an additional method of verifying that the correct
replacement part number has been selected. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the components.
All vehicles
1. Remove the LH front fender splash shield.
Gasoline engine vehicles
2. Loosen the air cleaner outlet pipe-to-air cleaner cover clamp, release the air cleaner cover latches and remove the air cleaner cover.
Diesel engine vehicles
3. Remove the battery. For additional information, refer to Battery.
All vehicles
4. Disconnect the ABS module electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the brake tubes from the hydraulic control unit (HCU).

To install:

tighten the smaller fittings (M10) to 17 Nm (13 lb-ft).

tighten the larger fittings (M12) to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
6. Remove the 2 HCU bracket-to-body bolts, the HCU bracket-to-body nut and the HCU assembly.

To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
7. If necessary, remove the 4 ABS module screws and the ABS module.

To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-inch).
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
9. Bleed the brake system.
