28. CAUTION: Use a lifting crane and load leveler rated at a minimum of 907 kg (2,000 lb) or damage to the vehicle may occur.
Position the heavy duty lifting crane with a commercially available load leveler and attach the chains to the front of the engine.
29. Loosen the center bolt for the RH engine mount.
30. Remove and discard the studs for the RH engine mount.
31. NOTE: If the engine or body is raised too quickly, you will not get the lift required to remove the RH engine mount. Check the height several
times while lifting.
With the help of an assistant, lift the engine and raise the body 101.6 mm (4 inch) at the same time. Check the clearance between the cab mount
and the body.
32. Support the engine with jackstands or other suitable support devices.
33. Remove and discard the center bolt for the RH engine mount.
34. CAUTION: The engine mount bracket bolts must be discarded and new bolts installed, or damage to the vehicle may occur. They are a
torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.
Position the RH engine mount forward until the rear bolts for the RH engine mount bracket are accessible. Remove and discard the rear bolts.
35. CAUTION: The engine mount bracket bolts must be discarded and new bolts installed, or damage to the vehicle may occur. They are a
torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.
Position the RH engine mount rearward until the front bolts for the RH engine mount bracket are accessible. Remove and discard the front bolts.
Position the RH engine mount bracket to the rear of the engine. Remove the RH engine mount and the RH engine mount bracket.
Installation
1. Clean the engine support insulator-to-cylinder block and engine support insulator-to-frame mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to
installation.
2. CAUTION: The engine mount bracket bolts must be discarded and new bolts installed, or damage to the vehicle may occur. They are a
torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.
Position the RH engine mount bracket in the vehicle. Position the RH engine mount in the vehicle. Position back the RH engine mount bracket and
loosely install the new front bolts.
