16. In a circular motion, rotate the disc brake micrometer in the ID of the fuel tank stopper bracket lower bolt hole while at the same time, scribing a
circle into the chalk or equivalent on the frame rail. Repeat this step for both lower fuel tank stopper bracket bolt holes. See Figure 12.
17. Remove the fuel tank stopper bracket and reinstall the 2 previously removed J-nuts from the fuel tank stopper bracket.
18. Position a center punch or equivalent and center a dimple into the frame rail in both of the scribed areas as previously instructed in Step 9.
19. Position a drill motor with a 5.5 mm (7/32 in) drill bit into the dimple and drill a pilot hole as previously instructed in Step 10.
20. Using a 10 mm (13/32 in) drill bit, drill open the pilot hole as previous instructed in Step 11.
21. NOTICE: Apply corrosion protection to all modified areas of the frame rail to prevent damage to the frame rail.
It will be necessary to apply a liberal amount of Motorcraft PM-13-A corrosion protection to all of affected areas of the frame rail that were
modified for installation of the fuel tank stopper bracket and allow PM-i 3-A to tack dry.
22. Reposition the fuel tank stopper bracket up onto the frame rail and install the 2 upper fuel tank stopper bracket bolts from the outside of the fuel
tank stopper bracket through the frame rail. Snug the flag nuts on the inside of the frame rail. Install the 2 supplied bolts from the underside of the
frame rail and snug the bolts. Recheck the distance between the fuel tank stopper bracket (fuel tank side) and the fuel tank assembly. Once the
measurement of 19 mm (0.75 in) is confirmed, tighten the bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
23. NOTICE: This step is necessary to protect the wiring harness from any possible damage from the 2 lower fuel tank stopper bracket bolts.
Install the 2 supplied rubber caps over the lower fuel tank stopper bracket bolts that are extending into the frame rail.
24. Remove the tie straps and reposition the wiring harness back into the wiring harness retainer and secure the wiring harness.
