Fuel Pressure Regulator: Testing and Inspection
Injection Pressure Regulator (IPR) Valve Test
Purpose
The purpose of this test is to verify the IPR valve is operating correctly.
The following Diagnostic Tests must be completed before this procedure:

Right Cylinder Head Check
-
Left Cylinder Head Check
-
High-Pressure Pump Test
Recommended Procedure
1. Inspect the IPR valve electrical connections. If a concern is present repair as necessary.
2. Remove the IPR valve. Refer to Electronic Engine Controls. Inspect the IPR valve for dirt and debris. If a concern is present repair as necessary.
3. Inspect the IPR valve 0-rings for wear cracks and cuts. If a concern is present install new IPR valve 0-rings.
WARNING:
THE IPR VALVE MUST BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED INTO THE IPR VALVE TESTER AND TORQUED TO
SPECIFICATION BEFORE INSTALLING TilE IPR VALVE COIL, SLEEVE, AND NUT. TillS WILL REDUCE TilE RISK
OF A ilIGil PRESSURE FLUID INJURY. FAILURE TO FOLLOW TIIESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL
INJURY OR DEATH.
4. Remove the IPR valve rear nut sleeve and coil. Install the IPR valve into the IPR valve tester and torque to 6 Nm (53 lb-in). Install the IPR valve
coil sleeve and nut.
5. Connect the hydraulic pump to the IPR valve tester.
