Special Tools
Removal
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove and support the driveshaft.

Remove the bolts,
^
Remove and support the driveshaft.
3. On 4-wheel drive equipment vehicles, remove the transfer case.
4. Remove the output yoke.
^
Install a companion flange holding tool.
^
Use an output yoke nut socket to remove the output shaft nut.
5. Use seal remover and Impact Slide Hammer to remove the rear output shaft seal.
Installation
1. Using a seal replacer, install the rear output shaft seal.
