Removal and Installation
CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power
steering components can result.
NOTE: New Teflon seals must be installed any time the power steering line fittings are disconnected.
1. Using a suitable suction device, drain the power steering fluid reservoir.
2. NOTE: Thoroughly clean all debris from the threads.
Disconnect the return line-to-steering gear fitting.

Discard the Teflon seal.
3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
4. Release the clamp and remove the return line-to-cooler hose.
