CHROME TOW HOOKS RUSTING PREMATURELY - 
VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO 7/17/2006

2005-2007 F-Super Duty

This article supersedes TSB 06-14-15 to add a production fix date.

ISSUE
Some 2005-2007 F-Super Duty vehicles built prior to 7/17/2006 may exhibit the chromed tow hooks rusting prematurely.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Remove the tow hook.

2.

Install a new revised chromed tow hook with three (3) new bolts.

3.

Torque the bolts, specification is 66 lb-ft (90 N.m).

NOTE

A WAX COATING (RUST INHIBITOR) HAS BEEN APPLIED TO THE NON-VISIBLE PORTION OF THE TOW HOOK. BE CAREFUL NOT
TO REMOVE THE WAX COATING THAT HAS BEEN APPLIED.
